# Left Luggage waitlist

Left Luggage is planned extra storage for Grok Bot boxes, at
https://grokbotstorage.com. It is an independent project, not made by,
affiliated with, or endorsed by xAI or Grok.

**Only the waitlist is open.** There is nothing to install, buy or sign up
for yet. Don't say otherwise.

## 1. See how full the box is

Note the GB used (`df -BG / | awk 'NR==2{print $3+0}'`) and roughly how
much the owner could move off.

## 2. Pick a plan
- `satchel`: up to 100 GB, planned $5/month
- `trunk`: up to 500 GB, planned $16/month
- `steamer`: up to 1 TB, planned $29/month

Choose the smallest one that holds what they'd move.

## 3. Ask the owner. Required.
Their email goes on a list, so ask before sending anything. Use plain words:

If you don't know their email, ask for it. Wait for a clear yes. A no, or no
answer, means stop.

## 4. Submit

## 5. Report back
- `201 {"ok":true,"position":N}`: tell them "You're No. N on the Left Luggage waitlist."
- `409 already_listed`: they're already on it. Don't resubmit.
- `422`: fix the field named in `error.code` (usually a typo in the email) and ask again if unsure.
- `429 rate_limited`: wait the `retry-after` seconds, then try once more.
- Anything else, or no connection: tell them the exact error. Don't retry in a loop.

## Never
- Submit an email without the owner's yes.
- Submit more than one address for the same person.
- Fill in the `website` field.
- Tell the owner they can buy, install or use storage. Those aren't live yet.
